Today’s Weather — Tuesday, January 6, 2026

Boca Raton is leaning into a clean, quiet weather day.

The National Weather Service forecast for 2 miles ESE of Boca Raton Airport calls for sunny skies today with a high near 79, then mostly clear tonight with a low around 64. Winds start out calm, then turn southeast at 5 to 8 mph this morning.

So, if you’re heading out early along the I-95 corridor, cutting across Glades Road, or making the usual morning run past Lyons Road, it’s a good-looking setup. Mostly. The one thing to keep an eye on is visibility around daybreak.

In the broader South Florida discussion, forecasters flagged areas of dense fog as possible early Tuesday morning, with fog potentially stretching toward the east coast metro and most likely in Palm Beach County. The most likely window they gave is between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m., and guidance suggests a meaningful chance of visibilities dropping to a half mile or less in spots. If you hit a fog pocket, it can go from clear to murky fast, especially on the quieter roads heading west.

Outside of that early-morning concern, the rest of the day is straightforward: sun, comfortable air, and light winds shifting onshore. Midday and afternoon plans along the Intracoastal or out near the beaches should feel easy, not sticky, not stormy, just winter-in-Boca kind of weather.

The bigger pattern is also pretty stable. The National Weather Service says a strong ridge remains over the Florida Peninsula, keeping conditions warm and dry with little to no rain expected, and they note a gradual warming trend through the week. In other words: the sunshine isn’t going anywhere soon.

Marine and boating conditions

For boaters off Boca and the Deerfield-to-Jupiter stretch, the marine forecast stays modest today.

Expect south winds 5 to 10 knots with seas 2 to 3 feet. Wave detail includes north 2 feet at 7 seconds with a smaller southeast 1 foot at 5 seconds mixed in. The Intracoastal is expected to run light chop.

One more wrinkle here: the marine forecast does mention a chance of showers early this morning, plus a slight chance of thunderstorms this morning, then a slight chance of showers late this morning into early afternoon. It’s not a washout forecast, but if you’re out on the water early, it’s worth keeping the sky in your peripheral vision.

The broader marine outlook from the Weather Service keeps it calm overall, calling for light to gentle winds through mid-week with seas mostly 2 feet or less across local waters.
