Today’s Weather – Monday, March 9, 2026
BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Mostly sunny and warm today with a high near 81° and a light southeast breeze. Most of the morning and early afternoon look dry, though a few showers or thunderstorms could develop inland late in the day and fade early this evening. Tonight turns partly cloudy and mild, with lows around 71°. The rip current risk remains elevated along Atlantic beaches through midweek
Boca Raton starts the week under the steady influence of high pressure parked over the western Atlantic, a setup that keeps our weather quiet and temperatures running above normal. The National Weather Service notes the southeast breeze will be noticeably lighter than last week, which matters because lighter winds allow the daily sea-breeze pattern to set up more easily.
For today, most of the metro coastline—including Boca—should stay mainly dry with plenty of sun. The best chance for any rain is not right on the beach, but farther inland from mid-afternoon into early evening.
With enough moisture in the lower atmosphere and daytime heating, a few scattered showers and thunderstorms may pop up over interior South Florida. If one drifts close enough to Boca, it would be brief and hit-or-miss rather than a washout.
Early this morning, patchy fog is possible in the usual interior spots, but widespread fog is not expected along the immediate coast. Tuesday looks even quieter.
Atlantic waters off Boca Raton stay relatively calm early this week. Expect southeast to east winds mostly 5–10 knots today and tonight with seas around 2 feet, keeping boating conditions generally favorable.
By Tuesday night into Wednesday, winds increase to 10–15 knots with a more noticeable chop on the Intracoastal, especially in exposed areas. Beach conditions remain a bigger concern than offshore seas: persistent onshore flow supports an elevated rip current risk along Atlantic beaches through midweek.
Late week, winds may turn breezier and become locally higher near any thunderstorms.
