Today’s Weather – Friday, March 6, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will run warm and mostly sunny today, with a slight chance of a quick shower late morning into early afternoon. Expect a steady east breeze that can feel gusty near the coast, especially midday. Highs top out around 80, with a mild evening and a low near 72. The biggest impact remains at the beach: a high rip current risk continues along Atlantic beaches through the weekend

Today’s weather is being driven by a familiar early-March setup: a strong area of high pressure sitting over the western Atlantic, with a broad ridge of warmer air aloft over the Southeast. In plain terms, that combination keeps South Florida in a steady onshore (east) wind pattern, limits big storm development, and helps temperatures stay above normal.

For Boca Raton, that means another mostly sunny day with a “coastal sprinkle” type of forecast. The National Weather Service keeps rain chances low (around 20%), mainly between about 8 a.m.

and 1 p.m., when fast-moving showers can ride in off the Atlantic on the breeze. Most neighborhoods will stay dry, but if a shower does pass through, it should be brief.

Winds are the other headline. Easterly winds around 14 mph with gusts near 21 mph are expected, and the broader forecast discussion notes gusty conditions are most likely after mid-morning.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan for persistent easterly flow. Nearshore Atlantic waters off Boca Raton will see east winds around 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots, and seas running 3 to 4 feet (occasionally up to 5 feet), creating a moderate chop in the Intracoastal and choppy conditions in exposed areas.

Conditions stay similar tonight and Saturday before easing a bit Saturday night (2 to 3 feet). The onshore wind and short-period waves will keep the surf rough and support a dangerous rip current setup along the beaches through the weekend.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

  • High Rip Current Risk through Sunday evening for FLZ168-172-173.
  • Small Craft Should Exercise Caution (Coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 60 NM).

7 Day Outlook

  • Friday (Mar 6): Mostly sunny and warm near 80 with a breezy east wind. A quick coastal shower is possible late morning to early afternoon (20%). High rip current risk at Atlantic beaches.
  • Saturday: Another mostly sunny day around 80 with a small morning shower chance (20%). East winds stay steady with occasional gusts. Beach conditions remain hazardous due to rip currents.
  • Sunday: Sunny and warm near 80 with an east breeze. Dry weather dominates, but the surf stays active. High rip current risk continues along Atlantic beaches through the weekend.
  • Monday: Sunny skies and seasonably warm-to-above-normal temperatures near 80. Light to moderate east winds continue. Low rain chances, with most areas staying dry.
  • Tuesday: Sunny and a touch warmer near 81. East winds may turn breezier again with occasional gusts. Still only a low chance of a brief coastal shower.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny and warm near 80 with mild nighttime temperatures. The overall pattern stays steady, keeping rain chances low and afternoons pleasant but breezy at times.
  • Thursday: Partly to mostly sunny with a higher chance of showers (around 30%) as a weakening front nears the region. Temperatures stay warm, with only limited relief expected.

Today’s Boca Raton Weather stays mostly sunny and breezy with a small shower chance, while a high rip current risk continues along the Atlantic beaches.
