Expect mostly sunny skies today with a high near 78 degrees, and a steady southeast breeze running about 9 to 13 mph. Along the I-95 corridor and east toward the beaches, it will feel comfortable for February, with that light ocean wind keeping things from getting too warm even as the sun does the work.
Tonight turns partly cloudy with a low around 67. Winds ease a bit and shift more southerly, staying in the 5 to 10 mph range. If you are out late around the Intracoastal or heading home from dinner along Federal Highway, it should be mild, not muggy, and overall pretty calm.
The broader setup is a warming pattern taking hold. That is the classic recipe for a gradual warm-up. The National Weather Service says a high rip current risk remains in effect through Friday evening for Coastal Palm Beach County. Dangerous rip currents are expected, and the warning notes that rip currents can sweep even strong swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
