BSO tells us that the victim was a 3-year-old girl.
BSO investigators with the assistance of Lauderhill Police Department detained two occupants of a U-Haul truck located in Lauderhill in connection with the shooting. The individuals were subsequently released.

TAMARAC, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A child died after being shot in Tamarac this morning.
BSO and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the area of 3000 West Commercial Boulevard at 8:19 AM in response to a shooting in the area.
Upon arrival, Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue discovered a child who had been wounded by gunfire, accompanied by an adult woman. To ensure thorough investigation, deputies promptly established a perimeter. Tragically, paramedics pronounced the child deceased at the scene. The BSO’s Homicide Unit detectives were immediately notified and are currently conducting an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate shooting incident.
