Original Story

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Anyone interested in sharing public comment on the zoning concerns around Boca Raton’s new Blue Lake Elementary School should sign up soon before PBCSD closes the registration.

The Advisory Boundary Committee (ABC), an advisory committee which makes recommends to the Superintendent of the Palm Beach County School Superintendent, will host the 4th zoning meeting on Thursday, February 10th, 2022. According to the meeting agenda, the meeting will run from 5pm – 9pm (depending on discussion). This meeting comes only a week after the district announced the name of the school to be Blue Lake Elementary as we reported last week.

Anyone interested in speaking at the virtual meeting should sign up by 12PM on February 10th. You can sign up using the ABC Zoom Registration Form. You can also call 561-434-8020. If you wish to share your comments for the record you can e-mail them to [email protected] – note that they must be received before 12PM on February 10th.

This is the 4th ABC meeting and will most likely be the final one depending on how it goes. The ABC is expected to present a recommendation to the Superintendent with regards to the required re-zoning.

The School District Of Palm Beach County is reminding parents that students who are zoned to attend Blue Lake Elementary School will have no preference to attend the full-choice program Don Eastridge High Tech Middle School.

The meeting will be held virtually and available to be viewed live on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/sdpbc/live
