WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Palm Beach County is holding its first-ever career fair today, bringing dozens of county departments under one roof as officials try to fill a wide range of open jobs. The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel’s Majestic Ballroom, 130 Australian Avenue, in West Palm Beach.

County leaders say the goal is simple: show residents what Palm Beach County government actually does and the kinds of careers available at every level. Representatives from more than 30 departments are expected to attend, covering fields that stretch from engineering to emergency services and parks to public safety. Staff will also be on site to walk job seekers through county benefits, including health insurance, paid leave, and retirement options in the Florida Retirement System.

The fair comes as the county lists 97 open competitive positions across its agencies, according to its current job board Job Openings. Those openings range from entry-level support roles to highly specialized technical jobs.

Several of the most notable opportunities fall within airports, engineering, public works, public safety, water utilities, parks, planning, and youth services. Listings this week include Systems Administrator III at Palm Beach International Airport, Financial Analyst III in Airports Finance, Senior Airports Striping Technician, Contract Analyst in Community Services, and multiple Human Resources and County Attorney roles Job Opening.

Engineering and Public Works is advertising a long list of critical positions, including Bridge Repairer, Professional Engineer, Motor Equipment Operator II, Traffic Safety Coordinator, Traffic Signal Supervisor, and inspectors in roadway production and surveying. Many of those roles are based at county facilities on Vista Parkway or North Jog Road in West Palm Beach Job Opening.

Facilities Development and Operations is also hiring, with openings for Facilities/Systems Project Manager, Principal Professional Engineer, Contract Management Specialist, Procurement Coordinator, Electrician, Plumber, and Commercial Equipment Technician. Several positions are county-wide, while others are tied to specific locations near Vista Parkway Job Opening.

Libraries, parks, and recreation programs have openings as well, from branch librarians in Jupiter, Delray Beach, and West Boca to Recreation Specialists, Playground Safety Inspectors, Athletics Specialists, and staff for therapeutic programs. Many of those jobs are based at John Prince Park, West Boynton, Westgate, or Lake Worth-area recreation complexes Job Opening.

Public Safety continues recruiting for Animal Control Officers, Shelter Veterinarians, Emergency Medical Services Specialists, Pretrial Services Interviewers, Forensic Nurses, Victim Advocates, and Animal Care technicians. Most of those roles are located at the Belvedere Road campus or facilities near Gun Club Road Job Opening.

Water Utilities, one of the county’s largest operational arms, is advertising Utility Line Technicians, Utility Plant Operators, Electronics Technicians, Industrial Electricians, Contract Management Specialists, and Engineering positions. Several are based along Forest Hill Boulevard, Belle Glade facilities, and Delray Beach laboratory and maintenance sites Job Opening.

Youth Services is hiring licensed therapists, maintenance workers, and clinical staff for locations in Delray Beach, Belle Glade, and at the Highridge Family Center near Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach Job Opening.

County officials say the variety of positions reflects how large the operation is, with more than 6,000 employees working across its divisions. The fair is designed to give residents a direct path to hiring managers instead of navigating online listings on their own.
