CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Downtown Coral Springs is getting a full holiday makeover this December, with city officials planning a monthlong run of lights, music, and family events centered around City Hall and Sample Road. The city is promoting the lineup, called “Holiday Magic Returns to Downtown Coral Springs,” through its online events calendar at CoralSprings.gov/events.

Throughout December, the City Hall Lawn at 9500 W. Sample Road will turn into a walk-through holiday display, with large-scale, interactive light features set up for residents and visitors to explore, pose with, and photograph. According to the city’s holiday events page, the downtown tree will begin a nightly light-and-music show on Friday, Dec. 6, with twinkling lights carefully timed to holiday classic songs every half hour starting at 5 p.m., running through the evening for anyone passing through downtown. The first big gathering on the calendar is the Light Up the Lawn Tree Light Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. On that night, and in partnership with the Community Redevelopment Agency, the Coral Springs City Commission is scheduled to officially light the City Hall Christmas tree at 6 p.m., turning the City Hall Lawn into the focal point of the city’s holiday kickoff. The event listing says guests can expect holiday cookies, snow flurries, roaming entertainment, food trucks, and trackless train rides. Train rides are available to Coral Springs residents only, with space limited and pre-registration required through the city’s website. CoralSprings.gov/events

Just a few days later, the city shifts the attention to Sample Road for the annual Holiday Parade, set for Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. The parade will once again travel down Sample Road under this year’s theme, “Parade of Cultures.” The Coral Springs Multi-Cultural Committee will ride as Grand Marshal, presented by Xfinity, highlighting the city’s focus on cultural representation in this year’s lineup, according to the city’s event information. Residents and surrounding communities are invited to line the route and cheer for local schools, groups, and organizations taking part. As in years past, Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to close out the parade as they ride down Sample Road to wrap up the night. CoralSprings.gov/events

Holiday activity will not be limited to City Hall and Sample Road. The city is also rolling out Deck the Halls: Festive Homes Tour, an online map highlighting the most decked-out homes in Coral Springs. A “festive homes” map is set to launch on Dec. 9, giving residents a tool to plan a route and drive-by tour of neighborhood displays. Homeowners who want their address included on the holiday map can apply through the city’s website by Dec. 8, according to the announcement. CoralSprings.gov/events

City officials are directing residents to CoralSprings.gov/events for full details on each holiday program, including any schedule updates, registration links, and event policies. Residents can also sign up for text alerts by texting CORALSPRINGS (one word) to 888-777 to receive timely updates about holiday events and other city information. CoralSprings.gov/events

For families, the lineup offers a mix of drop-in and scheduled events: monthlong light displays at City Hall, a one-night tree-lighting celebration with kid-friendly activities, a themed parade on Sample Road, and a self-guided tour of decorated homes spread across the community. The city’s messaging frames the overall plan as a way to turn downtown Coral Springs into a “magical winter wonderland” throughout December, using lights, music, and familiar holiday traditions to bring residents back into the core of the city for the season.
