JUPITER, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A boat captain rammed his boat carrying 14 migrants into a PBSO patrol boat before fleeing.

Just after 9:00 AM, a PBSO Marine Unit Deputy was attempting to intercept a vessel near the Jupiter Inlet when the captain, identified as 30-year-old Bazaeluis Francois, rammed the patrol boat, damaging two engines, before speeding off. A PBSO helicopter and another marine unit boat pursued the vessel which was beached just north of the Juno Beach pier.

Francois fled but was apprehended by Jupiter Police officers and PBSO road patrol deputies who responded to the beach. PBSO adds that 14 immigrants have been turned over to Border Patrol.

Francois is being charged with two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
