DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A woman is dead after she was struck by a Brightline train in Delray Beach.

The Delray Beach Police Department is currently looking into a heartbreaking incident involving a pedestrian and a Brightline train that happened on Tuesday, March 5, around 11;30 p.m.

The tragic event occurred in downtown Delray Beach on Atlantic Avenue, where witnesses observed a collision between a female pedestrian and a southbound Brightline train. Initial reports suggest that the collision took place when the gates were down to signal the train’s approach. Witnesses mentioned seeing the pedestrian on the tracks before the accident. Sadly, emergency responders declared the woman deceased at the scene.
