PBSO Suspects 63-Year-Old Daniel Elie Of Hit-And-Run Crash Injuring Mother And Her Baby In Stroller

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — A 25-year-old West Palm Beach mother and her 5-month-old baby were critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Caribbean Boulevard in West Palm Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that just after 9:40 PM on Friday, November 4th, 2022, deputies responded to Haverhill Road and Caribbean Boulevard in the West Palm Beach area in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

Responding PBSO district deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue located two pedestrians, identified as Douge Love, 25, of West Palm Beach, with her baby, in critical condition at the scene. According to officials, Love was struck by a vehicle while walking westbound on Caribbean Boulevard.

PBSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives were notified and began investigating the incident. Detectives tell us that Love was pushing her baby in a stroller westbound on Caribbean boulevard. At the same time, a Suzuki Grand Vitara was traveling westbound on Caribbean Boulevard toward the pedestrians. The driver failed to identify the pedestrians; thus, the vehicle’s right front impacted the pedestrians. Both pedestrians were propelled onto the shoulder. They were treated on-scene by medical personnel and then were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for additional treatment.

The driver, later identified as Daniel Pierre Elie, fled the scene and failed to identify himself. PBSO later identified the suspect and seized the vehicle. PBSO tells Boca Post that charges against Elie are pending.
