Luis William Lamboy Of Pompano Beach Passed Away

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Deerfield Beach motorcycle crash on Monday, May 1st, 2023.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, detectives are investigating a motorcycle crash that left a man dead Monday morning in Deerfield Beach.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Luis William Lamboy was traveling eastbound in the inside-thru lane on Southeast 10th Street on a black 2005 Yamaha YZF- R1 motorcycle. Meanwhile, the driver of a black 2017 Honda Accord was initially traveling northbound on Southwest Fourth Avenue attempting to turn left onto Southeast 10th Street.

As the Honda Accord crossed the eastbound thru lanes, the motorcycle was approaching at an extremely high rate of speed. As the Honda proceeded into the center shared left turn lane, the motorcycle veered left.

The front of the motorcycle struck the front driver’s side of the Honda. The impact caused the Honda to be redirected towards the northeast. The motorcyclist was ejected of the motorcycle.

Both the motorcyclist and the driver of the Honda were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The motorcyclist was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Honda was treated for minor injuries. The passenger of the Honda stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Excessive speed on the part of the motorcyclist is considered a factor in this case. The investigation continues.
