BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Tri-County Animal Rescue is closing out the year with a major intake, welcoming 15 dogs and four cats rescued from a hoarding and backyard breeder situation in Tennessee.
The animals arrived this week through a partnership with Animal Rescue Corps, which helped remove them from unsafe and overcrowded conditions. Staff at Tri-County Animal Rescue said the rescue marks one of their final large intakes of 2025.
Inside the shelter, it has been a busy few days. Each animal is being individually processed, examined, and given medical care before moving into a decompression period. For many of them, it is the first calm environment they have experienced in some time.
Rescue officials said the animals are currently settling in and will not be immediately available for adoption. The shelter expects the dogs and cats to be ready in approximately two weeks, once they have received medical clearance and had time to adjust.
The animals were removed from a hoarding and backyard breeding situation, conditions that often leave pets under-socialized and in need of extensive care. Shelter staff said patience during this early phase is critical to setting them up for long-term success in adoptive homes.
Despite what they have been through, the rescue described the group as alert, expressive, and already showing signs of personality as they begin to decompress. Staff members say those traits often emerge quickly once animals are removed from stressful environments.
Tri-County Animal Rescue plans to share updates over the coming days as the animals continue their recovery. Individual adoption profiles are expected to be released closer to their availability date.

For now, the focus remains on stabilizing the group and giving them time to rest. As staff put it, this is just the beginning of the animals’ next chapter.
