POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — BOCA RATON — The Broward Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit is scheduled to announce new details Tuesday in the homicide investigation of Bree Black, a case dating back to 2020.

BSO said the update is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21. A BSO Public Information Officer is expected to be on scene at about 10:45 a.m.

Black was murdered on July 3, 2020, in the area of 244 N.W. 12th Street in Pompano Beach, according to BSO.

In advance of the announcement, BSO said it has placed signage in the area of the homicide. The signs are intended to remind the public that investigators are still seeking tips and information in the case.

The investigation is being handled by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit. BSO is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Andrew Gianino at 954-321-4376.

For Palm Beach County residents, the key takeaway is that BSO is actively working the case and is again pushing for public help. Anyone who may have information tied to the Pompano Beach location or the July 2020 timeframe is being asked to reach out directly to the detective.

BSO has not released the new details ahead of the 11 a.m. announcement. What happens next will depend on what investigators share Tuesday and whether the renewed outreach generates new leads.
