PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A three-vehicle crash at Alternate A1A and Atlantic Road in Palm Beach Gardens has turned fatal, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the crash occurred March 6 when a 2017 Toyota RAV4 traveling southbound on Alternate A1A entered the intersection and turned left toward Atlantic Road. At the same time, a 2014 Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on Alternate A1A approaching the intersection.

The Charger struck the passenger side of the RAV4. The impact redirected the SUV in a northeasterly direction until it came to rest facing east on the sidewalk along the east side of the roadway.

Following that collision, the Charger moved to the right and began crossing the center lane. A 2016 Kia Soul traveling behind the Charger attempted to avoid the crash and swerved into the center lane. The front of the Kia then struck the passenger side of the Charger, pushing the sedan in a northeasterly direction. The Charger came to rest on the east sidewalk facing south, while the Kia stopped with its front against the passenger side of the Charger facing east.

The driver and passenger in the RAV4 were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The driver of the Charger was transported to Jupiter Medical Center, and the driver of the Kia was taken to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

The passenger in the RAV4, identified as Hans Homburger, later died from injuries sustained in the crash. According to investigators, Homburger was pronounced deceased on March 8 at 7:56 p.m.

The driver of the RAV4 was identified as Myna Homburger. The other drivers involved were identified as Jorge Rangel, who was driving the Dodge Charger, and Elizabeth Anne Gonzalez, who was driving the Kia Soul.

The crash remains under investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
