PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Mayor Maria Sachs proclaimed November 7th to be Veteran Service Dog Day in Palm Beach County.
On November 7th, 2023, then-Vice Mayor Maria Sachs presented the proclamation to Ryan Onda, CEO of Semper Fi Service Dogs, a non-profit dedicated to helping veterans through service dogs.
The proclamation was well received as Palm Beach County is home to roughly 84,000 veterans. Semper Fi Service Dogs tirelessly works to rescue dogs from shelters and train them to be service dogs for Veterans. Studies have shown that service dogs help veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, a common condition that affects many war veterans.
Semper Fi Service Dogs is dedicated to preventing veteran suicide by training and placing service dogs where they are needed.
Support our troops by helping Semper Fi Service Dogs continue their mission.
