UPDATE

19-year-old Junior Zelaya Castaneda and 17-year-old Kendrick Zelaya Castaneda were arrested and charged with the shooting that killed 1.

Investigators say that the two were selling drugs, specifically THC cartridges, to a group of teens they coordinated the deal with on Instagram. The brothers told investigators that they were ripped off and robbed just days before the deadly incident.

The brothers allege that the group of teens provided them with counterfeit cash for 4 THC cartridges. There was an altercation about the counterfeit money and Kendrick was ultimately able to maintain possession of the cartridges and the cash. The car sped off and Junior Zeleya Casteneda fired a single shot at it.

The bullet landed in the head of one of the victims who was ducking in the front seat. The victim was ultimately transported to the hospital where he died.

UPDATE

PBSO arrested two suspects, Junior Zelaya Castaneda and a 17-year-old juvenile for the homicide death of the victim on June 14, 2023.

Both suspects were located, arrested, and booked into the PBC Jail and JAC Center on 1st-degree homicide and weapons charges.

GREENACRES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A male was shot and killed on Fleming Ave in Greenacres on Wednesday evening.

According to PBSO, deputies responded to a shooting on Fleming Ave in Greenacres at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023. The first responding deputies found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man died moments after deputies first arrived.

Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.

PBSO has no suspect information at this time.
