13-Year-Old Samyiah James Passed Away

NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — 13-year-old Samyiah James was shot and killed in North Lauderdale on Monday, August 21s, 2023.

The Broward Sheriffs Office is currently investigating an incident involving the death of a 13 year girl due, to a shooting.

On Monday August 21st around 10;42 p.m. the Broward County Regional Communications received reports of gunshots in the vicinity of the 7400 block of Southwest 12th Court in North Lauderdale.

Deputies from the BSO North Lauderdale district quickly arrived at the scene, finding a young girl with a gunshot wound. They immediately provided emergency assistance while waiting for North Lauderdale Fire Rescue to arrive.

The victim, identified as Samyiah James was then transported by BSO Aviation Unit to a hospital. Was sadly pronounced dead at 11;31 p.m. Following this tragic incident the BSO Homicide Unit and Crime Scene detectives were called in to conduct an investigation.
