Palm Beach County School Board Taps Assistant Chief McCutcheon To Interim School Police Chief
Boca Raton, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Palm Beach County School District Superintendent Mike Burke has tapped Assistant Chief McCutcheon for interim Police Chief.
Patrick McCutcheon, who spent most of his career in command positions at PBSO, is the current assistant chief of the PBC school police. McCutcheon was hired on as a police officer with the district in 2004 and has since risen to be the 2nd in command at the department.
Like his predecessor, he too was most recently with Boca Raton Police Department where he spent two years as the Assistant Chief of Police.
If the recommendation is approved by the board then McCutcheon would start as the Interim Police Chief effective January 21st which is the last day of employment for the sitting Chief, Daniel Alexander. As Boca Post reported earlier this month, Alexander tendered his resignation from the position on January 6th, 2021 to pursue other opportunities.
The district reminds us that the interim Police Chief would be allowed to be apply for the permanent position while the district looks considers candidate.
