Austin Granat Passed Away

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man has died weeks after a deadly crash in front of the Venetian Isles neighborhood in unincorporated Boynton Beach that seriously injured 2 others.

According to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, a Lake Worth man has died weeks after a traffic accident that occurred just in front of the Venetian Isles neighborhood on Lyons Road in unincorporated Boynton Beach on July 31st, 2023.

PBSO’s traffic homicide investigators say that Granat was driving north on Lyons Road, passing the Venetian Isles neighborhood, when another driver turned into the neighborhood, crossing his path. 82-year-old Sandy Cohen, was pulling into the Venetian Isles neighborhood in her Lexus E350, when she crossed Granat’s path. Investigators say the 82-year-old failed to yield to Granat’s right of way, causing the violent crash.

PBSO and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the scene just after 4 PM on July 31st, 2023. All parties were transported to local hospitals. 82-year-old Sandy Cohen as well as Granat’s passenger were said to be in Serious condition. Granat was in critical condition.

Sadly, Granat succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, August 20th, 2023, about 3 weeks after the crash
