Michael Agola, 27, Arrested

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Boca Raton Police arrest a suspect for grand theft auto after BSO tracked the stolen car to a Boca Raton neighborhood.

A Boca Raton Police Officer responded to a call for service regarding a stolen car parked on the 1300 block of 13th Court just before 2PM on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023. Upon arrival, the officer found the car was occupied by an unconscious male. The male was later identified as 27-year-old Michael Agola. Fearing Agola may have suffered a medical emergency, the officer opened the driver door. Agola regained consciousness and was detained.

The officer then spoke to a Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputy who advised Agola was seen stealing the car which was left running by a Security Officer near Century Village East in Deerfield Beach less than 2 hours before. The deputy advised that Agola jumped in the car, put on a jacket, which he found in the car, and drove off. BSO used GPS to track the car to the Boca Raton neighborhood where the suspect was found.

Agola said “they left the car for me” when asked why he took the Kia Optima. When asked who left the vehicle for him, “I don’t know this person”, Agola responded.

While this car was not stolen in Boca Raton, or even Palm Beach County, some say they are happy to see Boca Raton Police making arrests around auto theft incidents in the area.
