DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Palm Beach County couple is suing three companies in a newly filed civil complaint that alleges an unsafe work setup led to a fall and serious injuries during electrical work at a construction jobsite.
The case, Oscar Javier Granada Gonzalez and Gloria Munoz Grisales v. Straticon, LLC, Can-Am Electric, LLC, and L&D Contractor Electrical Corp., was filed February 4, 2026 in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, under Case No. 502026CA001364XXXAMB.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs say they are legally married and Palm Beach County residents. The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of the court’s jurisdictional threshold, exclusive of interest and costs.
The complaint identifies Straticon, LLC as a Florida limited liability company with a principal place of business listed at 501 Fairway Dr., Deerfield Beach, and describes it as engaged in construction management and general contracting, including jobsite supervision and safety oversight. Can-Am Electric, LLC is also listed with a principal place of business at 501 Fairway Dr., Deerfield Beach, and is described in the complaint as providing commercial electrical services. L&D Contractor Electrical Corp. is identified as a Florida profit company with a principal place of business at 1417 S. Deerfield Ave., Deerfield Beach and described as an electrical contracting entity.
The incident at the center of the lawsuit is alleged to have occurred on November 13, 2025. The complaint alleges the defendants requested, directed, and authorized Oscar Javier Granada Gonzalez to perform electrical work at the jobsite, including installing electrical conduit in the ceiling at elevated heights.
The plaintiffs allege the defendants chose to provide an A-frame ladder for that work, despite allegedly knowing the job required sustained overhead labor at a height that posed a foreseeable risk of falling. The complaint further alleges the defendants owned, operated, controlled, managed, and or were responsible for the jobsite, and retained control over safety conditions, equipment, jobsite access, work methods, and sequencing.
The suit claims the defendants failed to provide appropriate safety equipment for elevated electrical work, listing items such as lifts, scaffolding, harnesses, lanyards, anchorage points, and guardrails, and alleges the work was performed without proper fall protection or safer alternative equipment. The complaint alleges that while performing the assigned work, Granada Gonzalez fell from the ladder and suffered severe and permanent injuries.
The complaint also alleges the defendants were not Granada Gonzalez’s direct employer and did not provide him workers’ compensation benefits, and claims there was no contract of hire with any defendant. It references OSHA regulations related to ladder safety and fall protection in describing the alleged safety issues.
The lawsuit brings negligence counts against each of the three defendants and includes loss of consortium claims by Gloria Munoz Grisales tied to her husband’s alleged injuries. The complaint alleges Granada Gonzalez suffered damages including bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, physical impairment, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost earnings, and diminished earning capacity, among other claimed impacts.
