LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A bicyclist critically injured in a Halloween night crash in Lake Worth Beach has died, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.

Deputies say the crash happened around 6:01 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the intersection of Lucerne Avenue and North H Street.

Investigators report that a 2023 Toyota Highlander driven by 60-year-old Melina Mercedes Pablo Andres of Lake Worth Beach was heading north on North H Street. From a stop sign, the driver accelerated across Lucerne Avenue and into the path of a westbound bicyclist traveling in the northern bike lane.

The bicyclist, identified as 61-year-old Louis Simon, struck the passenger side of the vehicle. The impact threw Simon from his bicycle, and his head hit the pavement, causing critical injuries.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded and transported Simon to St. Mary’s Medical Center. He died from his injuries on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 6:19 p.m., deputies said.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, neither alcohol nor drugs were involved. No charges have been filed.

The investigation is ongoing.
