BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Boca Raton gets a sunny Christmas Eve with a high near 78, breezy northeast winds, and a high rip current risk along the beaches through this evening.

Today’s Weather – Wednesday, December 24, 2025

Boca Raton is waking up to a mostly quiet, mostly dry Christmas Eve, but the beach is the one place you don’t want to treat like “normal” today.

The National Weather Service forecast for 2 miles ESE of Boca Raton Airport calls for a sunny day with a high near 78. Morning temperatures are coming out of the upper 60s — overnight lows were around 69 — and the overall feel is comfortable for late December in South Florida. It’s the kind of day where you’ll see people jogging along the Intracoastal, windows down on Glades Road, and plenty of last-minute holiday errands up and down the I-95 corridor.

The tradeoff is the wind and surf setup. Winds today are out of the northeast at 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. That steady onshore push is part of why the rip current risk is elevated (details below), and it’s also why the air may feel a little sharper near the water compared to inland spots in the western suburbs.

Rain is not expected to be a major player today, but it’s not a zero. The overnight period carried a 20 percent chance of showers, and that same “one in five” chance shows up again tonight after 8 p.m. The daytime call is straightforward: sun, mild temps, and a persistent northeast breeze. If a shower pops, it should be brief — the kind that darkens the pavement for a few minutes and then disappears.

For people spending time outside, the pattern is favorable. Midday will be the warm spot, then conditions ease back into the 60s after sunset. If you’re planning to be out late — whether that’s a Christmas Eve service, dinner, or just driving around looking at lights — temperatures drop into the upper 60s by the time the evening is underway. The forecast low tonight is 67, with north winds around 6 to 10 mph and that same 20 percent shower chance after 8 p.m.

Bottom line: it’s a good day for outdoor plans across Boca, from the neighborhoods west of Lyons Road to the areas closer to the ocean. Just be cautious at the beaches, because the water conditions are not matching the calm look of the sky.
