Body Of Doctor Found After Diving Accident Near Jupiter Inlet

JUPITER, FL (Boca Post) — The body of a missing diver has been located on the seafloor near Jupiter inlet after a day of searching.

The body of 58-year-old Dr. Robert Macintyre, from Massatuchettes, was recovered from the seafloor near Jupiter inlet at approximately 3:00 PM. Rescuers began searching for the dive charter he was on, Republic 4, of the Jupiter Dive Center, reported him missing at approximately 11 am. The Boca Post has learned that Dr. Robert Macintyre was the chief of medicine at South Shore Hospital in Massatuchettes.

A PBSO helicopter and marine unit assisted the US Coast Guard in the search for a missing diver. After a day of searching the agencies found the body of the man near the Jupiter Inlet.

PBC Medical Examiner responded to Dubois park to take possession of the deceased male.

The incident was initially reported by the USCG as a missing person near Lake Worth Beach inlet. Boca Post clarified with a spokesperson from the USCG that they reported that location based on the information they were given. Dr. Macintyre actually went missing near where he was found, about 3 miles offshore near the Jupiter Inlet in Jupiter, FL.
