Who Murdered Barbara Schreiber And Darlene Zetterower In 1975?

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Detectives identified a new suspect in the 1975 double-homicide of two 14-year-old girls who were last seen in Hollywood, FL.

Two 14-year-old girls, Barbara Schreiber and Darlene Zetterower, sat on a bench on a busy Hollywood street in 1975 before they went missing. The bodies of the two girls were found the following morning in the everglades near I-75.

For nearly 50 years, the families of the girls have grieved the tragedy, with no arrests ever made. Many questions have been left unanswered. So much grief. Dozens of detectives have picked the case up, but still, no arrests. Cold Case Homicide Detective Andrew Gianino says they now believe they have a suspect in the 1975 double murder.

Thanks to DNA and fruitful detective work, BSO has identified Robert Clark Keebler, a now-deceased criminal with an extensive criminal history as a suspect. Keebler’s criminal history includes sexual assault and aggravated assault in crimes from Florida to California. Gianino says he believes Keebler is responsible for the double homicide that robbed Barbara and Darlene of their lives.

Gianino is now asking the public for information about the cold case. Specifically, Gianino is asking about a possible connection between the girls and Keebler, who is now the primary suspect. Detective Andrew Gianino says he believes there is another suspect involved in the murders.

“If anybody remembers Darlene and Barbara, anything about them, anything about what occurred in June of 1975, associations, friendships, I ask them to give us a call. It may mean nothing to them but everything to us.”, Gianino says.

Anyone with any information about the murder of Barbara Schreiber And Darlene Zetterower is urged to contact Det. Andrew Gianino at 954-321-4376.

In the video above, the girls were featured in the series “Open and Unsolved” produced by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
