FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A man is in critical condition after crashing car into a Fort Lauderdale canal.

At around 12:13 pm, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department (FLPD), Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue (FLFR) and Oakland Park Fire Rescue rushed to the 5100 block of NW 33rd Avenue after receiving a report about a vehicle submerged in a canal with the driver still inside.

While en route to the scene, the person who reported it mentioned that both the vehicle and driver were completely underwater. Once they arrived, personnel from all three agencies entered the water and successfully rescued the male driver, bringing him onto land where they administered CPR. The male was then transported in critical condition by FLFR to Florida Medical Center. Unfortunately, two officers sustained minor injuries during this incident.

This is currently all the information available, as the investigation is still ongoing.
