FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO to host Shop With A Cop at a Fort Lauderdale Walmart Supercenter.

On Thursday morning with Broward Sheriff Dr.Gregory Tony will host a special holiday shopping event for 200 kids called Shop with the Sheriff. This unique experience is made possible by the support of the Sheriffs Foundation of Broward County and Memorial Healthcare System.

The yearly Shop, with the Sheriff holiday gathering is set to happen at the Fort Lauderdale Walmart Supercenter at 9 a.m on December 5th where every child will be given $200 to shop with.

For two decades now deputies from the BSO school resource program have organized an annual event called Shop with the Sheriff. They carefully choose students attending Broward County schools in BSO districts based on qualifications like displaying positive behavior and showing a financial necessity. These student shoppers will team up with volunteers from departments, within BSO composed of both sworn officers and civilian employees alongside members of the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County.
