FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) — An abandoned package at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport called for an evacuation and a bomb squad response on Tuesday evening.

BSO is telling Boca Post they have determined that there was no threat. According to BSO, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport received information regarding an unattended bag found at 50 Terminal Drive, Terminal 1 of the lower level of the airport.

BSO deputies secured the baggage claim area and evacuated people in the vicinity of the lower level as a precaution. Traffic is being rerouted to the upper level of the airport. BSO’s Bomb Squad responded to the scene to investigate. Around 9 p.m. the all-clear was given.
