FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 86-year-old man reported missing from Cape Coral, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as Lloyd Bishop, 86, a white male with gray hair and hazel eyes. He is listed as 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds.

The last known area for Bishop was Cape Coral in Lee County. FDLE’s alert includes a vehicle description tied to the case: a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox with Florida tag EBU9599.

Silver Alerts are used in Florida to help locate missing older adults. The alert is intended to quickly push identifying details to the public so residents can recognize a person or vehicle and report information to law enforcement.

In this case, the Cape Coral Police Department is the agency handling tips and follow-up. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cape Coral Police Department at 239-574-3223 or call 911.

For South Florida residents, the practical takeaway is to watch for the vehicle and tag number, and to call police if you see someone matching the description or the listed Chevrolet Equinox. The alert information can travel quickly across the state, and sightings outside Lee County can matter.

FDLE’s official flyer for the Silver Alert is posted online at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=518118.
