Lorenzo Torres Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that they are investigating a single-vehicle accident that killed 40-year-old Lorenzo Torres from Margate.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that at approximately 12:11 AM on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, deputies responded to the area of 3600 block of West McNab Road in reference to a car accident.

BSO tells us that the preliminary investigation revealed the victim, Lorenzo Torres, and a juvenile passenger were traveling in a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound on West McNab Road. At some point, Torres steered right to follow the curve of the road and lost control.

According to detectives, the Tahoe rotated before leaving the roadway and struck a metal chain-link fence and a concrete lamp pole on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

BSO deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded, and Torres was pronounced deceased on the scene. Paramedics transported the juvenile passenger to an area hospital for injuries listed as not life-threatening.

Investigators say excessive speed is considered a contributing factor to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
