DeVos-Blum Family YMCA Celebrates 25 Years With ‘Evening of Enchantment’ Gala

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — The DeVos-Blum Family YMCA has been part of this town’s rhythm for 25 years now. Hard to believe it opened back in 2000, when the roads around Congress and Boynton Beach Boulevard were a lot quieter.

Since then, it’s become the place families lean on — swim lessons that saved a few lives, after-school programs that kept kids busy until parents got off work, the Golf Classic, the Halloween bash. It’s been a steady thing in a county that’s grown up fast.

On Saturday, December 6, they’re throwing a big one. “An Evening of Enchantment,” they’re calling it. Baptist Health is presenting the event, which will take over the Y’s outdoor space with a huge white tent from Grimes Events and Party Tents. The whole spot’s being redone into what organizers call a “magical forest.” Dinner, dancing, silent auction, the works.

The Headliners Band — you’ve probably seen them at other galas or fundraisers — will keep the night moving. They’ve played just about everywhere, from Miami to Palm Beach, even gigs overseas. Plastridge Insurance is sponsoring them for this one.

Local designer Amanda Perna is chairing the event, bringing some creative flair to the whole setup. Cocktail attire, 5:30 to 10 p.m., under the lights.

It’s more than a fundraiser, though. Folks at the Y say it’s a thank-you — for the families, the volunteers, the members who’ve kept the place alive all these years. Because the DeVos-Blum Family YMCA has always been about community, not just fitness.

The Y’s been part of the YMCA of South Palm Beach County since the start, helping kids grow up stronger and giving seniors a place to move and belong. It’s where people still find their footing.

Tickets and sponsorships are limited — they always are for this kind of thing. More info’s up at ymcaspbc.org/25years.

Should be a good night.
