DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Drivers heading through Delray Beach should expect delays next week as crews work to repair a damaged sewer main at the intersection of South Ocean Boulevard and Linton Boulevard.

City officials said the emergency repair will begin Monday, October 27, 2025, and is expected to take about seven days to complete. The issue began when a contractor working on a Florida Department of Transportation project accidentally punctured the City’s sanitary sewer main, according to a notice from the City of Delray Beach.

During the repair, southbound traffic along South Ocean Boulevard will shift temporarily just south of the Linton Boulevard and South Ocean Avenue intersection. One eastbound lane on Linton Boulevard, near the bridge leading to Ocean Avenue (State Road A1A), will also be closed.

Pedestrian detours will be clearly marked, guiding walkers and cyclists around the construction area. The City advised drivers to reduce speed and expect intermittent delays throughout the work zone. Traffic control will remain in place 24 hours a day until the repair is complete.

Residents or commuters with questions can contact the City of Delray Beach Utilities Department at (561) 243-7309.
