DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — George Bush Blvd between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue will be closed due to construction for 2 weeks from Monday, February 7th, 2022 through Monday, February 21st, 2022.

Closure: George Bush Boulevard At 7Th Ave To Close February 7Th - 21St

George Bush Boulevard Detour February 7Th, 2022 – February 21St, 2022

All traffic will be detoured around the closed segment of George Bush Boulevard in Delray Beach from February 7th, 2022 through February 21st, 2022.

Detour routes are to be marked along George Bush Boulevard, NE 7th Ave, NE 7th St, NE 8th Ave, NE 6th St, and Palm Trail.

All work will be performed during daytime hours but the closure will remain around the clock for two weeks.

George Bush Boulevard Improvements Project

The City of Delray Beach has sponsored this FDOT project. The benefits of this project include:

  • Drainage improvements
  • Milling and resurfacing
  • Minor Widening
  • Utility improvements
  • Concrete, sidewalk, driveway replacements
  • New sidewalk connections
  • Curb and gutter improvements
  • Signing and pavement marking upgrades
  • Bike lane and detectable warning surfaces

This project started in July of 2021 and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2023.
