CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Missing juvenile Skylee Merino has been found unharmed in Georgia after a Coral Springs runaway investigation that involved local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Skylee was located on May 6, 2026, by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office in a suburban area outside Atlanta, Georgia. Her location was determined by a detective with the Coral Springs Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit, which used numerous investigative resources to find her.

Police said Skylee was recovered in good health. Her parents have been notified and will make arrangements to reunite with her in Georgia.

The update closes a major part of the public-facing investigation into Skylee’s whereabouts, though Coral Springs police said there are no further updates to provide at this time.

The case drew attention across South Florida as Coral Springs police worked to locate Skylee and determine where she had gone, as first reported by Boca Post.

The Coral Springs Police Department credited extensive work by detectives and investigative support from several agencies, including the Boca Raton Police Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Delray Beach Police Department, Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Orlando Police Department, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson Township Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office was the agency that physically located Skylee in Georgia. For residents who had been following the case, the key update is direct: Skylee has been found. She is unharmed. Her parents have been notified. The next step is for her family to reunite with her in Georgia.

Police did not release additional details about where exactly Skylee was found, who she may have been with, how long she had been in Georgia or whether any other investigative steps remain. The department said it has no further updates related to the case at this time.
