WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash at Okeechobee Boulevard and the Florida Turnpike entrance, according to a traffic homicide log released by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred Tuesday, December 23, at approximately 9:31 a.m., in the outside left turn lanes for the Florida Turnpike entrance. Investigators said a 2022 Lincoln Corsair and a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer were both traveling eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard and attempting to turn north onto the Turnpike when the vehicles collided.

According to the crash narrative, the front of the Lincoln struck the passenger side of the Jeep. Both vehicles rotated and were redirected in a northwesterly direction following the impact.

The final resting positions placed both vehicles on a pedestrian island at the northwest corner of the intersection. The Lincoln came to rest facing west, while the Jeep was facing southeast.

The driver of the Lincoln was identified as Silvia Reano Espinoza, 58, of Royal Palm Beach. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report. A passenger in the Lincoln, Ingrid Aida Calderon Reano, 41, also of Royal Palm Beach, sustained critical injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Jonathan Andrew Zawislak, 45, of Boca Raton. Investigators reported he was also wearing a seatbelt. He sustained minor injuries.

Calderon Reano was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with serious injuries. An update issued by investigators states she later succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday, December 24, at 12:34 p.m.

Next of kin was notified, according to the report.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division continues to investigate the crash. No charges had been filed at the time of the report, and the case remains pending.

The incident is protected under Marsy’s Law, which limits the release of certain victim information.
