Illoda Iphadael, 91, Passed Away

According to PBSO, the driver has since been identified and located.

The driver, identified as 45-year-old Oscar Cruz Fuenleal, and the vehicle were found in Desoto County, near Florida’s west coast. The vehicle has been impounded and Fuenleal has been arrested and charged with one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

GREENACRES, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — PBSO is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a silver Jeep Liberty involved in a deadly hit and run crash.

The deadly crash happened just after 9 PM on December 31st, 2023 in Greenacres.

According to traffic homicide investigators, a silver Jeep Liberty was traveling eastbound on 10th Ave N approaching the intersection with Walker Ave. At the same time, 91-year-old Illoda Iphadael was crossing the 10th Ave N southbound on the west side of the intersection with Walker Ave. Unfortunately, Iphadael walked into the path of the Jeep Liberty. The driver of the Jeep then swerved into the left turn lane. The Jeep impacted Iphadael , throwing her to the ground.

Deputies say the Jeep then fled the scene eastbound on 10th Ave N.

Investigators are interested in learning anything they can about the Jeep. Additionally, deputies want to speak to the driver of a white Nissan Murano who they say may have witnessed the crash.
