DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) —  25-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash early on Memorial Day.

The Delray Beach Police Department is currently looking into a tragic traffic accident that happened on Monday morning, May 27, 2024. Around 8;40 a.m., there was a collision between a motorcyclist and a small Toyota sedan in the 5300 block of W Atlantic Ave.

Initial reports suggest that a 25 year old motorcyclist was speeding when the motorcycle crashed into a turning vehicle at the intersection of W Atlantic Ave and the Marketplace entrance road. Sadly, the motorcyclist passed away instantly at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital by Delray Beach Fire Rescue with minor injuries.

The westbound lanes of W. Atlantic Avenue were closed for three hours in that area as a result. Delray Beach Police Traffic Homicide Investigators (THI) are thoroughly investigating the crash.
