JUPITER, FL (Boca Post) — The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that they are investigating an accident involving a fatality after a vehicle struck a pedestrian walking along Beeline Highway in Jupiter.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that at approximately 8:03 PM on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, deputies responded to the intersection of Beeline Highway and Indiantown Road in Jupiter, in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.
Responding PBSO district deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue located a pedestrian deceased at the scene. According to officials, the pedestrian, whose next of kin has not yet been notified, was struck by a vehicle while walking along Beeline Highway.
Investigators say the pedestrian was operating a vehicle that was called out as a possible impaired driver driving northwest on Beeline Highway. Just south of the intersection with Indiantown Rd. The pedestrian pulled his vehicle into the center median and exited the vehicle. The pedestrian then began walking southeast on Beeline Highway within the roadway.
At the same time, the driver of the Dodge Challenger was traveling southeast on Beeline Highway in the inside lane in the same area. The front of the Challenger impacted the pedestrian.
PBCFR declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
