Eric Uszakiewicz, 49, Passed Away

POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — 49-year-old Eric Uszakiewicz died after he struck by a car in Pompano Beach on Wednesday.

Detectives, from the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward Sheriffs Office are currently looking into a crash that tragically claimed the life of a 49 year man in Pompano Beach on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place around 8;46 p.m. On August 30th within the 200 block of East Copans Road. Initial findings indicate that Alexander Front was driving a 2023 Audi RS E Tron GT heading westbound on East Copans Road. At the same time, a pedestrian, later identified as Eric Uszakiewicz, was attempting to cross the lanes of East Copans Road.

According to investigators, Uszakiewicz was struck by the Audi as he entered its path. The impact caused him to be thrown across the raised median and into the eastbound inside thru lane, where he was subsequently hit by a 2000 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound.

First responders, including BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel, swiftly responded to the scene. Paramedics quickly transported Uszakiewicz to Broward Health North hospital for treatment of his life threatening injuries.

Both drivers involved in this incident remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators.

Sadly, hours later, BSO traffic homicide investigators were informed that Uszakiewicz had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 1:55 a.m.

BSO says the investigation is still ongoing.

  1. If this guy at 49 years-old, didn’t have enough sense to cross the road correctly, then that is where the Natural Law: Survival of the Fittest, applies. Sorry for him, but true.
