Boca Post has learned that PBSO arrested Mateo Valentin early this morning following the deadly accident that killed 30-year-old Sean Cole.

Mateo Valentin, unlicensed, says he drank “one beer” prior to the accident that killed 30-year-old Sean Cole. Valentin tells investigators he has never had Florida Driver’s license. Valentin’s passenger told investigators she observed the illuminated headlamp coming from the intersection and attempted to yell however was too late.

Investigators say that Valentin was driving at a high rate of speed when he violated Cole’s right-of-way.

WELLINGTON, FL (Boca Post) — 30-year-old Sean Cole from Loxahatchee dies after being involved in a motorcycle crash with a suspected impaired driver in Wellignton on Sunday evening.

Traffic homicide investigators from PBSO tell Boca Post that Mateo Valentin, 31, of Wellington, was turning from southbound Greenview Shores east into the Wellington Marketplace plaza. At the same time, Sean Cole, 30, of Loxahatchee, was traveling northbound on Greenview shores north of Wellington Trace.

As Valentin engaged in the turn, his Toyota Tacoma violated Cole’s right of way causing a collision.

During the collision Cole’s Harley Davidson front impacted the front right of the Tacoma, ejecting him from the motorcycle.

Cole was transported to St Mary’s Hospital where he succumbed to injuries sustained during the collision.

PBSO traffic homicide investigators say that alcohol and or drugs are suspected of being a contributing factor and note that charges are pending.
