DANIA BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — BSO reports that a 63-year-old man has been hit by a car and killed in Dania Beach on Thursday, March 17th, 2022.

From Broward Sheriff’s Office:

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a crash that left a 63-year-old man dead in Dania Beach Thursday night.
At approximately 10:23 p.m., Thursday, March 17, BSO Dania Beach District deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the 1300 block of South Federal Highway for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, William Bessing, was walking eastbound across South Federal Highway when he walked into the path of a 2019 Nisan Rogue driven by Rodney Moore.
After the crash, Moore immediately stopped, remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Bessing was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives say excessive speed is not believed to be a contributing factor in this crash
The investigation continues.
