WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV left one man dead Saturday night at the intersection of South Haverhill Road and Purdy Lane in West Palm Beach.
The collision occurred at 8:28 p.m. on February 22, 2026, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
Investigators say a 2023 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound on Haverhill Road and attempting to turn left to travel east onto Purdy Lane. At the same time, a 2018 Honda CBR 1000 RR motorcycle was traveling northbound on Haverhill Road, approaching the intersection.
As the motorcycle entered the intersection, deputies say the Ford began its left turn, violating the motorcycle’s right of way. The motorcycle struck the passenger-side rear quarter panel and bumper of the SUV.
Following the impact, the motorcycle rotated and slid north, coming to final rest in the center of the intersection. The Ford was brought to a controlled stop on the southeast corner of the intersection.
The motorcyclist, identified as Brayan Alexis Torres-Zelaya, 24, was transported to Saint Mary’s Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. The fatality time was recorded as 9:16 p.m. on February 22, 2026.
The driver of the Ford, identified as Wilfredo Lazo-Graupera, 70, was wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries. Investigators noted the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. Alcohol and drugs were not indicated for either driver in the report.
The crash remains under investigation by PBSO Traffic Homicide Investigators.
