The detectives from Broward Sheriffs Office Homicide Unit have apprehended a suspect in connection with a shooting incident that claimed the life of a 33 year old man in Oakland Park area.A call reporting a shooting near Northeast 35th Street in Oakland Park was received by Broward County Regional Communications at 1;48 pm on Friday January 31st.When BSO deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue reached the location in response to this call, for help they found Alexander Davis with gunshot injuries.The suspect had fled before deputies arrived at scene. Deputies at the scene carried out life saving procedures until Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived and took over the situation with Davis transportation to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by staff present there to attend to him after the arrival. The Broward Sheriffs Offices Homicide and Crime Scene teams were promptly dispatched to conduct an investigation into the incident following findings suggesting it originated from a domestic dispute. On that day itself and following thorough investigative techniques employed by detectives involved in the case work diligently to identify 22 year old Calvin Dials as the perpetrator responsible, for the shooting incident. Subsequently conducting a search of the vicinity surrounding the area of interest led detectives to locate Dials swiftly and take him into custody for further questioning and legal proceedings. After the authorities apprehended Dials for first degree murder along with charges of battery and aggravated assault using a weapon, against him; he was taken to the Broward County Main Jail for further processing.
