A tragic crash in Lauderdale Lakes has left one man dead. Now the Broward Sheriffs Office is on the hunt for the drivers involved. It happened Sunday morning, around 1;36 a.m. On August 10. A call came in to Broward County Regional Communications about a pedestrian who’d been hit by a car, on West Oakland Park Boulevard. Deputies and firefighters rushed to the scene. What they found was devastating; an adult male, pronounced dead there on the spot.So here’s what detectives have found out far. A pedestrian was trying to cross West Oakland Park Boulevard. Not at a crosswalk. Somewhere in the middle of the block. He was heading from south to north. For some reason the guy gets into the road. Then crouches down facing the traffic. That’s when a car, in the inside eastbound lane hits him.. To make matters worse that car just takes off after striking him. Witnesses told detectives that two other cars also hit the pedestrian after the first crash.
