COOPER CITY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — BSO seeks information in 2024 Cooper City arson case, released CCTV video.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit has released a photo and surveillance video of a man suspected of arson. The crime was committed in July 2024 in Cooper City and investigators have now turned to the public for help identifying the subject(s) as they have exhausted all other means.

At approximately 8:05 a.m., on Tuesday, July 9, last year, the Broward County Regional Communications center received a late report of a vehicle on fire in the area of the 5200 block of Southwest 101st Avenue. BSO deputies and the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue unit went to the scene and found a car on fire.

The fire was put out and the vehicle, a 2014 Ford Fusion, was totally burnt. Fortunately, there was no one injured and no other buildings were affected.

BSO has released video from the surveillance camera showing the subject entering a store few minutes before the incident happened in the belief that someone might recognize him. The subject is seen wearing a light color hooded jacket with a blue and orange shade and light color pants. He had on white and orange colored shoes. See the entire video below:
