A man lost his life in a car accident in rural western Broward County under investigation by Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives following reports of a vehicle submerged in a canal along Krome Avenue late Wednesday evening just before 9 p.m. as confirmed by Broward County Regional Communications dispatchers prompting response from Weston BSO deputies who called for support from BSO’s Dive Team and other specialized units including Missing Persons Unit and Marine Patrol along with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Unit for assistance, at the scene. On Wednesday night deputies found a 2007 Chevy Tahoe submerged in the canal but no one was found then On Thursday morning a relative of Ramiro Gomez Diaz went back to the area and saw a body, in the water BSO deputies came and took Gomez Diazs body out of the water and he was declared dead BSOs Traffic Homicide Unit was informed and arrived The initial inquiry showed that the car unexpectedly swerved off the road and ended up in the canal for reasons to be determined by officials investigating the incident. There were signs of tire tracks heading towards the canal and remnants of a bumper and headlight were spotted floating in the waterway. The investigation into this matter is still, in progress.
