The Traffic Homicide Unit (THU) detectives from Broward Sheriffs Office are looking into an accident that claimed a mans life last night.Wednesday evening around 10;14 p.m. there were reports of a collision between two vehicles at 4600 Peters Road received by Broward County Regional Communications.Plantation Police Department and Plantation Fire Rescue were among the responders at the scene.Followed by them were deputies from BSO and THU units, for investigation. During the investigation it was found that David Ramsden was driving a 2003 Honda Accord sedan westbound on Peters Road towards a construction area near the junction of Southwest 46th Avenue. The driver of the Honda made moves, around traffic signs and other cars to enter the left turn lane at the intersection. The Honda driver proceeded to speed through the intersection heading west at a pace without noticing the concrete barrier on the west side of the junction. The Honda hit the center divider. Kept moving in the westbound direction while a 2023 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by Steven Bell was parked just slightly to the west of the divider in the turning lane shared with other vehicles going leftward on Peters Road. The front part of the Honda crashed into the section of the Ram in a head on collision incident. Following the impact with the Ram trucks end directly facing it and its subsequent clockwise rotation due to the collision force from Honda impact finally settled near that point. Meanwhile the Ram truck got pushed towards west. Toppled over until it came to a stop, within i.e. lying across fully on left lane dedicated for vehicles moving eastward along Peters Road. Ramsden was taken by paramedics to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead while Bell received treatment at the scene of the incident. The authorities are looking into speed and potential driver impairment by the individual, behind the wheel of the Honda as factors that could have led to the accident with the investigation still ongoing.
