Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications was notified of a possible suspicious incident in the area of 2300 block of Bay Drive in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and made contact with an armed individual. At some point during the response, a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The media staging area is near Bay Drive and Beacon Street.
