BSO’s Burglary Apprehension Team (B.A.T.) swiftly apprehended a suspected fake delivery person who was caught with stolen goods in Deerfield Beach. The individual, disguised in an Amazon vest, was captured on a Ring camera committing a crime instead of making a legitimate delivery. BSO detectives located the suspect’s blue Honda Accord, believed to be involved in a recent residential burglary in Parkland, where they found the stolen iPhone 15 Pro.Detectives kept watch on the car and observed the suspect, later identified as Stanly Sabino Pimentel, parking in a Deerfield Beach neighborhood. He then exited the vehicle disguised as an Amazon delivery worker before proceeding to commit the mentioned offense.
Shortly after, law enforcement took Pimentel into custody on various charges, including residential burglary, grand theft, possession of a firearm during a felony and tag obstruction. Detectives are actively investigating Pimentel for potential connections to other similar crimes in Broward County.
Authorities recommend several precautions individuals can take to prevent falling victim to package thefts. Suggestions include having packages delivered to your workplace, scheduling deliveries when you will be home, utilizing secure drop off locations provided by delivery services or arranging for neighbors to collect packages in your absence.
